Payachata volcanoes rise twice, once in the Andes and again in a high blue lake.
The lake lies almost still beneath a wide, hard light. Wind lifts only at the edges, where pale grasses break the reflection.
Chungará sits beside the international road inside Lauca National Park, yet its altitude asks far more of a visitor than any pull-over view. A measured ascent through Putre lets the body adjust and opens the wider park of wetlands and volcanic horizons. Clear weather gives the reflection; the landscape retains its scale without it.
